Verb appears at the end of the sentence (です - to be)
です (desu) : Formal (Older people. People with more experience, etc.)
Desu is omitted when speaking with friends and family (Informal)
は (ha) is read as “wa” when used as a particle
は also used as Topic Marker
It can be interpreted as Speaking of/ As for
Other verbs are not omitted from the sentence to make it informal 😅
We can ommit は (wa) when talking very informally
トムはアメリカ人です。(Tomu wa amerika-jin desu)
トムはアメリカ人。(Tomu wa amerika-jin)
トムアメリカ人。(Tomu, amerika-jin)
In front of です we can put noun and adjective
みさは日本人です。(Misa is Japanese) - 日本人 : Noun
ピカチュはかわいいです。(Pikachu is cute) - かわいい : Adjective
寿司はおいしいです。(Sushi is yummy) - おいしい : Adjective
こんにちは (konnichiwa) : Hello
Used to mean Today (archaic)
きょう/ 今日 (Kyou) : Today
When written names in Katakana a dot in put between the names to separate them
わたし (Watashi) : I
The “I” word is generally omitted as its implied from the sentence
It is only used when the topic is being changed
こんにちは。初めまして。みさです。よろしくお願いいたします。
